Another chocolate health benefit is that it also helps improve cognitive performance. Chocolate consumption reduces memory decline, which often leads to diseases such as Alzheimer’s. A study from Harvard Medical School reveals that drinking two cups of hot chocolate a day could help prevent memory decline, thus making your brain healthy. The study explains that hot chocolate helps improve blood flow to some parts of the brain.
It also makes your skin healthy because chocolates contain flavanols that fight against skin damage. It can also reduce stress and make you feel better. Aside from dark chocolates, milk chocolates have health benefits too. According to the researchers at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, consuming the milk or dark variant can reap the same benefits, Yahoo reports. The researchers added those who ate the most chocolate over an average of 11.3 years had a lower risk of coronary heart disease and stroke.
